Why wear Bamboo Cotton?
It’s simple. Bamboo Cotton is...

1. Incredibly Soft

Bamboo is to cotton what cashmere is to wool; far softer and more luxurious.

2. Antibacterial

Bacteria does not like, or live well, in Bamboo fabric. So Bamboo socks don't get smelly even after a few days use (within reason. If your socks are standing up on their own, it’s time to launder).

3. Sensitive

For allergy prone skin, bamboo fabric is perfect. It's anti-static and sits well next to your skin.

4. Moisture Wicking

Bamboo fabric absorbs moisture away from your skin, keeping your feet drier.

5. Thermo-Control

Bamboo fabric is warm, thanks to its hollow microfibre (a bit like wood), yet is also breathable so it offers good performance in all temperatures (within reason, we are not recommending these socks for Polar expeditions).

6. UV Protection

Bamboo fabric cuts out 97.5% of harmful UV rays, so perfect for holiday/ travelling cover-ups (not that it helps much on your feet, unless you sunbathe in your socks, and that’s not a look we recommended).

7. Good for the Environment

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and Bamboo fabric is 100% biodegradable. Bamboo yields the same volume as cotton from 10% of the land area. Bamboo only needs rain water to grow; very little, if any, additional water is ever required. Bamboo thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers. Bamboo is a grass so bamboo is cut not uprooted and so it is good for soil - particularly as it can grow on slopes not viable for other crops.

MADE WITH LOVE
IN THE ‘QUEEN OF CITIES’, ISTANBUL.

Our socks are as simple and comfortable as our City is beautiful and chaotic. To give a sense of it, this is the sound of Istanbul…

The muezzin and his recorded song sets the acoustic landscape with his ezan, the call for prayer, five times a day.
Seagulls chime in. Dogs bark.
Merchants called seyyar satıcı come by shouting their wares.
A simitçi offers his simit.
The fruit seller chants his pitch: “patlıcan, biber, domates!” (eggplant, pepper, tomato!).
The Aygaz gas bottle seller plays his catchy mnemonic tune.
The hurdacı, who collects iron, copper, and cables hails all with a drawn-out wail. So does the eskici, who collects everything else.
The bozacı touts his boza with a deep, undulating “boooosa”.
These echoes, these vibrations, this constant cacophony of noise is the signature of our Istanbul…

The Queen of Cities.
The crucible of civilisation and…
The home of SocksoSimple.

We love
our City.
We love
our socks.
